Blog or Bust!

I'm seriously considering bringing back my old blog and posting to it again. Still can't talk about my job so much, which is ok because I want to keep that to a minimum, but with some interesting things coming up in my life, why can't I post about things?

Being somewhat of a blogger that had a faithful following, this blog was kind of a bust for me. For one, it is hard or me to blog about things without bringing a personal view to it. The point of this blog was to blog anonymously, but I had difficulty doing it. Will I still blog here, maybe, as it retains some of its anonymous feel and if I want to go on a tirade about something, I can always post here again. But in the meantime, my regular blog is back up.

New Additions to the Family

So life has been busy, hence the complete and nearly utter lack of postings as of late. But last week I got the chance to go out and see the Machine Gun Shoot atknob creek. And picked up two guns while I was there.

My new AR-15 with an M4 body design (actually model is an XM15-E2S)

Ruger 10-22, I saw this rifle and the moment I saw it I knew it was destined to be mine.

Haven't fired either yet, and still working out the glitches, like figuring out how to collapse those bipods down. EDIT - Figured it out, to easy

That joins my collection, which includes an AK47, a Taurus Judge, and a little winchester .22 .

Now I need to figure out names for them.

Personal Stuff

I kind of created this blog as an outlet to just give a rant now and again with the ability to do it semi anonymously, but because of circumstances, it really doesn't let me update as much as I would have liked, so I had to do things like send Instapundit the pictures I took for the Cincinnati Tea Protest I attended last week (I didn't have time to blog about them though I wanted to) which was fantastic btw, since I will likely have to forgo the April 15th massive tax day tea party protests due to work *sighs*

My Thoughts Exactly

Meanwhile, I've been kind of in a lull lately, but I started working again. Some people know what I do for a living, but my boss doesn't want me really blogging about it, so using as generalized terms as I can without telling you who exactly I work for, I am in orientation and training for people entering my specific job field. We hire them on, they come to me and my peers, we teach them the rules and regulations of our business, we train them on the basic skills necessary to do their jobs and then they are sent onward to get further training in a more select field once I am done with them.

Despite the economy, we are still hiring. So I am busy. That's just part of the job I guess. Anyway, I am in the middle of an orientation process right now and it will continue for another month or so before I am given a break to do things like read blogs and stay up to snuff on current events. I like to stay informed. Unfortunately, there is a lot of training we have to go over and only a short amount of time to do it in, so we have really long days. When I get off at night, I generally want to crash.

So blogging is likely not going to be very much, but I still want to post to articles I find interesting. Most of them related to current events, and quite possibly the Kentucky Derby.

I have absolutely no idea who this person is, but that is a fantastic shirt!

In the meantime, I'm going to be cheering on the Tea Party Tax Protesters from a distance, and wishing I could be a part of the fun. . .

Going Galt

I bought a copy of Ayn Rand's book, Atlas Shrugged. Its been going around a lot and I thought I would check it out.

Except it is a freakin' huge book, and though I want to read it, it doesn't come across as light reading. Of course it's a classic. At 1069 pages and tiny print, I think it might be something I'll pick at over time.

But the thought of 'going Galt', as is described on various blogs I read, does sound like an appealing notion. Basically, the premise behind going Galt is that you reduce your income and live in a means so as not to allow the government to get more of your money through taxation, especially in this day an age where we are in a situation of having out of control spending courtesy of the government and the only way to pay for that spending is through taxes. It's basically a form of protest through your check book.

Why this idea appeals to me is a few reasons. One, I was raised on the notion of provident living, which is living in a status of self reliance. In a matter of economic hardships, a lot of people are looking toward the government to bail them out instead of looking at what they can do to get by. The funny thing is, at this moment, the economy really isn't that bad. People are still able to buy their necessities. We don't have massive food shortages or anything of that nature. People aren't starving. Most people are just finding themselves forced to eat out less, to bypass going to the movies right now. They have to cut back from getting those little luxaries in life. True, there is the mortgage crisis of people possibly getting their houses foreclosed, but its not due to lack of housing that is causing this problem. If a person loses their home, they still have the option of downsizing after all. That doesn't necessarily kick them out into the street. What about renting a smaller place until they get on their feet again?

There are so many things going on in this situation that is the root of it. I am outraged by the amount of spending going on in DC right now. What is the matter with these people? The fact that Obama wants to 'fix' everything at once is part of the problem. We need to fix the economy first, and ramming every little pet project that ever existed through our budget, continuing to bail out businesses that keep losing money with no hope of ever getting that money back, this is not going to help us in this situation.

I think we need to let AIG and Citigroup and the big three auto makers to fail. Yes, it will put a damper on the economy, but we've thrown how many billions of dollars at them so far and to what? They just come back asking for another hand out. Enough is enough, they can't depend on the government to come in and rescue them, while keep asking for hand outs. I've come to a point where I don't think I'll ever buy a domestic automobile.

So this is my protest. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that the government gets as little of my money to tax as possible. Now, granted, I'm not making anywhere near 250,000 dollars a year and I don't own a small business, and my pay is on salary so I make the same amount whether I work more hours or less, but I think I can see where I can avoid taxation. How about getting by with less?

Hmm, sounds like a perfectly sound plan to me. Until the government gets the clue that maybe IT'S the cause of this problem and not the solution.

Moving from Stimulus to Mortgages

Watch this news clip, it's brilliance!

So, now that the Stimulus is a done deal, Obama is looking on who to bail out next, and of course, its those poor people who are going to lose their homes due to whatever reason.

Home ownership is not a right. It is purely a privelege. I don't own a home myself because I am not in a position to buy a home. So I pay rent. And I'm an Angry Renter

Well, aren't we responsible people who are paying our mortgages on time and doing the responsible thing by renting before buying feeling snuckered now? Obama is going to help bail out bad mortgages so these unresponsible people don't have to worry about losing the homes they couldn't afford in the first place.

I have been leary about this housing bubble for some time.

Political Cartoons

Ok, quick question. What do you think when you see this cartoon?

Me being a political junkie as of late, I made the connection of the joke being about Congress's ineptitude when writing the stimulus bill, and comparing it to a recent story of a rampaging chimp that needed to be shot by police, suggesting the chimp itself wrote the bill which was why it needed to be shot.

I got the joke, but some people didn't find it that funny.

A lot of people immediately equated the chimp with Obama. Being a black man, of course any representation made in regards to him being a monkey is going to be deemed as racist. And a LOT of people seemed to jump to that conclusion, especially people who are fans of Obama. That they immediately equated it with racism had me thinking "hmm. . ."

Except this joke isn't about Obama. It's about Congress, and Nancy Pelosi. Maybe they should have had 'CONGRESS' scrawled on the chimp's chest just to prevent people getting confused, but that political cartoonist sure got some free publicity out of this.

EXIT QUESTION : would people have been offended if it had "nancy pelosi" written on it?

EDIT - I'm quite partial to IMAO's take on this story

These are some posts I've read over the last week or so that I found interesting. A lot of them came from Conservative Grapevine which is a regular visit in my day to day perusings of all things internet. Of course, there is also the bloglist to the right there that I check out frequently too, different posts at random.

I think I'm going to start doing a post like this about once a week, saying 'this is what I found this week that's worth checking out. Read and make your own decisions' type thing.

Snowboarding Crazies

A few weeks ago i went up to a local mountain near where I live and took my camera with me. I couldn't really afford to go get crazy like I secretly want too, because the older you get, the harder it hurts when you fall.

Damn it how age is like that.

So I decided to get pictures of other people getting crazy off their big air jump. I camped myself by the jump and just snapped shots of people getting air. I have no idea who any of these people are and I don't know if they really wanted me to get their picture or not, but I did so I guess they'll just have to survive.

I don't think there is any law so to speak of taking random pictures of people, as long as you don't make a proffit off their photographs or use them in some way that is, well, hmm. . . What is the copyright policy on using other people's images anyway? I probably should look that up. Anyway, it appears that you can't really tell who these people are, but they undoubtedly would know that it is themselves if they were to see the images I would think.

I think I need to take my camera into the shop. I beat the crap out of it.

About This Blog, And It's Title

I put a new header up. I've been wanting to do that for some time.

And yes, I own a Toyota. i had this picture in my mind of placing my wallet and my car keys on a map and digging out my camera and taking a picture of them in an artistic manner, that's what I created. Why on a map you may ask?

Because I like to travel. I have been to many points in the USA and being that car keys are kind of synonymous with travel, why not on a map? And if you ever go anywhere, you better have your wallet with you. So I guess it's a bit directive.

But of course, there is more to the name Wallets and Car Keys then that. These are two things that I always misplace. Surfing through the internet, it is quite common to lose track of where you go and what you are trying to find. Maybe this can be a place for me to collect my thoughts and musings, mostly so I don't lose track of them in my otherwise scatter brained rambling.

Kind of like you need to choose a location for things that are important to you. Like your wallet and your car keys.

So this is going to become that place on the 'net.

You know, I really like how Blogger does their set up through blogspot. I always hosted my blog before, but I should have done this a long time ago. It's so easy. Of course, they've improved their set up about ten fold when I started blogging about seven years ago, where back then you had to have your comments hosted by another site, where as now its pretty much a given.

Valentine's Day

Love's It!

Blogging

It's been rather quiet on the personal front these last few days, more so then on the political front at least. I have my own viewpoints on things still, but I'm just realizing that I am quite content to just read and comment on other people's blogs for the moment, and maybe I'll do an instapundit thing here and there, linking to people who put into words what I'm thinking. I guess every now and then I'll write up something, but with how limited my time is going to become here shortly, I don't know how much time I will have for blogging to begin with, and I don't really get what I got out of it before.

I guess I do miss my readership. It was one of the perks of blogging.

So yeah, I guess my blogging isn't going to amount to very much any more, and that's ok. Just a few comments about things going on in the world here and there, but nothing much more then that.

Personal front, well, if you don't really know me, and I can't allude to who I am, what point is there in talking about my life?

Snowboarding in the East when you're Used to back West

I discovered today that I am spoiled. I am from West of the Mississippi River, and when I say West, I don't mean I'm from the Plains States. I'm normally from a mountainous region, a region in fact that is blessed with not one, not two, but five reasonably mountains within a two hour drive.

Yes, I am a snowboarder. i've been snowboarding every season for about nine years now. It's crazy to think that I've been snowboarding that long, and if I could have, i wish I had started a good five years sooner, because as I am just south of thirty, as you tend to get a little older and with age, you don't take as many risks. I'm the kind of snowboarder that I really like to just ride, and I prefer going with other people when I do. I wish I was more dare devilish and would take more jumps, but a couple trips to the Emergency Room on account of my snowboarding hobby has caused me to be cautious in this sport.

Quite truthfully, I really can't afford to go to an emergency room because of a concussion due to a bad spill off of a big air jump. My boss would give me a good glare and a talking too. Besides, I don't get much out of that anymore. I'll jump the little mole hills and call it good.

Anyway, I've been to the mountain about six times already this season, which is actually pretty good for me, considering I average about three trips up a season.

So work brings me East of the Mississippi for the time being, and I researched and discovered that there are some mountains in the area. Awesome. I brought my snowboard so I could go carve some mountain when I could, since the season isn't over yet, right?

I'm not so far East to make the Appalachian Mountains, but mind you I am Rocky Mountain born and bred. Looking at this particular mountain, I noticed it shows five ski lifts. Five ski lifts means there's got to be some decent runs, right? I mean, the smallest of the mountains I'm used to has three lifts (and a tow rope, but who's counting). Not to mention that on top of five lifts, it too has a tow rope, and two little

Right?

Um, so I drive up to the nearest mountain, which is about an hour and a half away and sign in, get my ski pass, and strap myself in, notice it's crowded as all hell, and just get through the crowds and past the bunny slope.

Thirty seconds later, I'm at the base of the hill.

That's it? Seriously? Really, I thought the hill I was on WAS the bunny slope! I check it out on its map later after carving up the entire mountain, and discover the entire thing is a bunny slope. They have one area designated as a Black Diamond and I'm staring at it incredulously. No freakin' way. It's a Blue. Maybe. Everything that's listed as blue is green. The only thing this mountain has going for it is the fact that it has a pretty decent terrain park, a good enough one that the mountains back home would be proud of it. But that really is the only thing its got. It has a little ski race course, but I did it about four times and realized it's set for skiers, and I saw that I was the only snowboarder attempting it. I couldn't get fast enough to make the turns and found myself struggling for an extra two seconds to make bronze. I gave up after smacking onto the pole the fourth time and going down. Hey, I never said I was the best snowboarder out there.

Chances are, I'll hit this hill again. It's fairly close and a decent price considering there is NOTHING around here comparable. I guess I could make the trek to West Virginia, which probably has the closest decent mountain comparable to what i'm used to, but I better make sure it's worth the time and effort to go down there before I go. Otherwise, well, there's always next year.

Meanwhile, I just have one thing to say.

If you really like snowboarding, and you're used to the Mideastern states and what they have to offer, I highly recommend taking the trek back west one of these days and see what a real mountain is like. You'll never want to go back.

Why Sarah Palin is So Freaking Awesome!

There is a story behind this.

Apparently, there is a group out there called Eye on Palin that is bringing to light her heinous crimes against wolves because Alaska apparently endorses wolf killing.

The problem is, she doesn't support the slaughtering of wolves, rather it is considered a form of predator control. The wolves are getting back up in population and they've been very effective predators against the caribou and moose populations, which Alaska uses to feed their own. So the wolves are hunted to keep populations controlled so they don't decimate the caribou like they were close to doing before they started inacting this control measure.

Regardless, IMAO thought the website, rather then an anti Palin site, seems to show exactly why Sarah Palin is so freaking awesome.

This escilated into something further, as on the site, they have a coloring contest for the kiddies providing a wolf to color and to explain to Sarah Palin why we shouldn't be hunting wolves aerially.

A Blog was born, it's soul purpose spoofing the illustrations and the intent of the site.

I submitted my own piece. Here.

I'm not as creative as some of the others, I really am quite brain dead, but I recommend checking this blog out. I'm going to keep an eye on it.

Because Sarah Palin is so freaking awesome!

Mt Rushmore

Recently, on a quest to go East from West, I crossed through a plains state that doesn't get as much credit as it probably should. of course, when ever anybody thinks of South Dakota, they likely think of giant faces carved in rock, which is what I thought, and it is a well known landmark out in the middle of, well, nowhere.

But I was pleasantly surprised to find that there is more to do in the Black Hills then just stare at the images of four men carved on the side of a mountain (which, by the way, are pretty amazing when you think about it). However, i do recommend going to the Black Hills in a month other then February. On the plus side, you are missing the crowds, but on the downside, well, most things are closed because of lack of business.

There are little villages nestled in the Black hills like Hill City and Keystone that are perfect quaint tourist traps. They are modeled after a little gold rush town in the late 1800s, and then there are the roads one can travel that take you through the rock formations of the black hills and one road I wanted to tour which looked like it was a giant knot, but alas, some roads are closed in the winter time due to the necessities to upkeep them. But the roads with the tunnels and views are worth the travel, if you like that sort of thing.

But if you are going on a scenic tour of the country, it would be worth the trip to travel through South Dakota to see the Black Hills and all of the things to see with it, including Crazy horse Memorial.

I think if I am able to go back through there in the future, I'm going to make a point to stop by Wind Cave and jewel Cave.

On Writing

"Writing a book is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement. Then it becomes a mistress, then it becomes a master, then it becomes a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster, and fling him to the public."
-Sir Winston Churchill

A family member gave me a bookmark with this quote on it and it is indeed a true statement. Writing is one of my hobbies, and often one that consumes a lot of time I have. And it isn't so much the blogging aspect of writing but rather the idea of writing a story.

I spend a lot of my time daydreaming, mainly creating other worlds and writing stories along with them in my head. I've done this for as long as I can remember, when i was a child I would fall to sleep to a story I was creating and the next night I would continue to flesh out the story from the night previous. I don't know who does this, but I did it a lot. In fact, my stories would get so complex as I developed them that I didn't remember where they began. I would play act stories as well, my brother and I would play War with stuffed animals and would continue our story each time we played. It progressed to figures as I got older, until I got to old to play, but I was always creating these stories and these characters, all of which I don't remember now and I wonder about it.

I didn't actually start writing down these stories until I was seventeen, when in a writing class I was told to write a story about a character. I did so, and I liked the character so much I decided to write more about him. And my addiction to writing began.

I have a bajillion stories in my head at any given moment I assume. My writing is far from clean and coherent. My first story is so painful to read now due to grammar errors and style (though the story itself isn't bad) that I've wanted to rewrite it, and have tried except for I have come across a problem, that story has already been told, I am not interested in retelling it.

If I could have any profession in the world, I think I would be most satisfied with being an author. People have asked me why i don't publish my stories or at least allow people to read them and I have thought about this myself. However, I see my stories as something for myself and it feels odd to share them. Also, I think the subject matter I dwelve into has something to do with that.

I'm not interested in happy stories apparently. If I care about a character, I put them through a hardship that no sane person should ever have to endure. Its the precise opposite of what I would want somebody to go through in real life I would think. But I have discovered that this is how I personofy my character, how they become real to me is how they handle various hardships. Recurring themes are also present, making me wonder if I'm just writing the same story with a different set of characters under slightly different circumstances.

But i think it is the nature of the hardships these characters face that makes me reluctant to let anybody read them. Being a conservative, my writing sometimes appears to be the antithesis to my beliefs, and I would think that a lot of people would look at the story and wonder what I was thinking when i wrote it. Why would I be interested in this.

I think my stories also help me articulate how I view different stances, or looking at a social issue, I tackle that issue and let the story write itself. And I think in some ways, the stories reflect myself, making them deeply personal. As I think about it now, looking at my stories and how they are written, it makes me wonder how I illustrate various aspects of the story and tackle recurring themes.

At last count, I think I have close to eight or nine stories (some are continuations or closely linked to others, so the count is a little skewed on account of that) that are rather lengthy, in the neightborhood of 200+ pages, with the longest somewhere around 600. And there is no end for some of them that I see.

And every now and then, i will go on a writing binge where all i want to do is write.

Yes, this is a monster of a hobby that can suck your life away.

I need a new hobby. One that doesn't kill my time like writing does.

Politics

When is this mess ever going to end? Seriously?

Why is the topic of politics really such a polarizing topic that is conducive to starting arguments anyhow?

We went out to eat sushi today and we started discussing politics and we had to quickly change the topic to keep it civil. But it was at this discussion that I came to realize something.

You know, I really don't have a problem with Obama as a person. Because truthfully, he is just a person doing probably the most alienating job in the world, and there is no way anybody could pay me enough to want to be president, seriously. I don't see how anybody would want to run for president. I have a problem with him as a politician. Kind of like like I have a problem with all politicians, but mostly liberal ones. I disagree with their viewpoints and their stances and what not. Like I highly disagree with this stimulus (no wait, it's a recovery bill now, right?) that I think is not going to fix anything.

But honestly, I have discovered the people i really like to poke fun at are his die hard followers who can't seem to see past the subtle fact that Obama happens to be another person who happens to speak very well, which is generally what Politicians do. But the first thing I would like to note is that he is a Politician. When can you ever trust a politician? Never, that's when. You can't trust anything they say, you have to trust them on their actions.

Which is kind of difficult with our current President.

Anyhow, I'll try to keep the Obama bashing to a minimum. But his minions are fair game.

Bush Gaffes vs Obama Gaffes

So, did you hear how Obama tried to walk into the Whitehouse using the window instead of the door? It was an innocent mistake really, but it falls in line with some blatant hypocracy from the left when a similar incident happened to Bush in Beijing. People used this as an example of how stupid Bush was, when it was really just a simple mistake. How was Bush to know that door was locked?

See, in my opinion, these little mistakes are meant to be laughed at and nothing more. Bush was chronic for them, and it appears that Obama is not immune either.

I don't really see Obama saying '57 states' was really that important, more of a slip of the tongue when it is obvious he meant 47 states. Big deal.

And of course, don't forget the self described genius Joe Biden and his penchant for mispeaks.

But it's the same with Bush. Bush is not an idiot like some people would have you believe. He did attend an ivy league college after all. Bush sometimes did some dumb things, but he could laugh at it and people laughed with him (or at him, depending on your political views).

I find it funny, however, how some people react to the President when he makes a mistake. It was easy to laugh at Bush for eight years, but the Messiah is above this. How could anybody make fun of Obama! He's perfect, just prone to mistakes from time to time.

Sure, whatever, he's prone to mistakes, which means he was human, like Bush was. But I am sick of people stating how brilliant Obama is when he has made similar mispeaks when they point and laugh at Bush and use his mispeaks as evidence against his intellect.

I've had my misgivings with Bush, who was definitely a Moderate but many democrats fail to see how moderate he really was, but I think his little 'Bushisms' are harmless for the most part. I'll admit I am guilty of the same thing.

But because Bush is a Republican, people will always hold that against him. Look at Dan Quayle, he'll never live down that title merely because of an innocent mistake involving the word Potato.

I don't hold Obama's mispeaks and gaffes against him, but I'll laugh at them, especially if they are telling of who he is, like distributing the wealth being good for everybody.

Did you hear the latest bit? Apparently since he's from Hawaii (he hasn't lived there in years) he likes to be warm, so he turned the heat in the oval office up. Where's that Chicago Toughness he was talking about in regards to snow in DC? Rather, it looks like hypocracy and naivity.

Sounds like he can talk the talk, and he certainly can talk, but I have yet to see this guy really walk the walk. Do as I say, not as I do. Isn't that the model for Democrats?

So if Obama and Biden have their little Gaffe Parades going on, don't mind me if I point them out and make fun of them. Since the left has been doing the same thing to Bush for years and now is all offended that somebody would dare do the same to Obama.

Stimulus Package - Complete with Lard

Remember back when Bush wanted $85 Billion for the War in Iraq and how the liberals were all muttering what a waste of money this was and he couldn't get it passed unless it was lauded down with a bunch of Pork?

People were hysterical by the sheer amount of money 85 billion was.

Fast forward, a few years later, we've already approved a $700 billion TARP bill bailout that most people are opposed to and now we have a President who wants to cram an Economic Stimulus down our throats to the tune of $825 Billion dollars. And he's trying to encourage it to be passed now, to get the job done because we need to do this right away.

I have a feeling why he wants to get it done *now!* Because the sooner it gets passed, the sooner all of the liberal pet projects that are laden in this bill can get funding without being nixed. Because if we take to long to get it passed, people might notice exactly what is going on here. So Obama is all 'we need to get this done ASAP!'

I told a friend once that I'll consider Obama a fairly successful president (as much as I can hope from a very liberal president with no experience) if three things happen. He keeps me safe, he fixes the economy, and he lets me keep my guns.

I'm already disappointed because I see two out of three going down hill really fast.

At least the Republicans are growing a backbone by voting down this mess of a Crap Sandwich as Michelle Malkin puts it

I Pledge. . .

. . . to continue to do what I've always done, which is to love my country, support our troops, and stockpile lot's of ammunition for the looming Zombie Apocalypse.

Hollywood Celebrities decided that now that we have a hip and cool president, that it is ok to be American and now we have an obligation to come together and change the world and bring hope and peace to all.

MySpace Celebrity and Katalyst present The Presidential Pledge

Gag me.

Yo, people who make an extraordinarily large amount of money for looking pretty and pretending to be somebody else, why do you think I care one iota about your pledge to be better Americans now that we got a popular president in office? Is this all about togetherness and being one to end hunger and live in a happy society because the lord Obama has deemed it so?

Why couldn't you use your own initiative to do something before? Does it take the leadership of a democrat to make you work for greater good?

See, I'm not going to change and become more patriotic because there's a new president in the white house, despite whether I voted for him or not. I think that's a big difference between Liberals and Conservatives.

A lot of liberals, as loud and obnoxious as they can be, tend to only be proud to be American when a President they voted for is in office.

Conservatives love their country and are proud to be American no matter who is in office.

UPDATE - I have a confession to make. I couldn't stomach watching this thing all the way through at first. But somebody showed me the very end, and I about had it in with the creep factor. Watch the last thirty seconds, and let me suggest something that most people who are somewhat educated understand.

We don't serve the President. The president serves the People.

Unless their intent is to see Barack Obama as their new Dictator-in-Chief.

My Biff with Obama

I refused to watch the inaugeration yesterday. I wasn't feeling well to begin with and I wanted to keep some of my stomach.

You see, I'm not exactly thrilled with our new president. And I will respect his office becuase he was elected president. But I just thought I had better things to do with my time then to listen to a lot of TV pundits go on and on about how great Obama is. Nobody has any criticism for this guy?

Even comedians appear to be lamenting that there is nothing to mock about this new 'hip and cool' president who appears the only qualifications for the office he holds is he's an ivy league college grad, been in the senate for two seconds, and he speaks well. And don't forget he's black, which appears to be the primary reason for likely half of the people who voted for him voted for him.

I noticed some of my liberal friends were commenting, "We have a black president now! History is being made! This is incredible!"

All I am thinking is, what have we done? We just elected an inexperienced individual to the most powerful office in the world. But don't worry, it won't be that for long. As soon as Obama becomes President of the World, he won't need to be in the silly office of President of the United States anymore. If there even is one.

Am I being a little harsh and possibly judgemental? Maybe. But I'll give the man this. I'll give him six months to prove to me that he has the capacity to lead this nation into something other then total economic ruin and failure. That's more then a lot of people gave Bush, who were criticizing him from the moment he took office. But nobody can have a negative thing to say about Obama. If you dare raise question of his awesomeness to his faithful followers, they will wonder how you could be so unpatriotic as to defy the exhaulted one?

You know, the liberals have been harping that the myth of the quote 'dissent is the highest form of patriotism' to me for the last eight years as their reasoning for lamenting what they call the 'Bush fiasco' or whatever. So what if conservatives dissented against a liberal president for once? Where would that lead us? Remember, conservatives are the ones with the guns.

Now, do I want Obama to fail? Absolutely not. At least, I can only Hope that he doesn't plunge our economy with massive deficits and manages to keep our nation safe. But I'm not holding my breath on this guy who campaigned on empty promises of 'Hope and Change' so that the words have lost all purpose and meaning other then to go synonymously with Obama.

But I'll give him this. He has some pretty adorable daughters.

Repealing the Twenty-Second Ammendment

I found this interesting. I'm curious to how often an ammendment like this comes up for a vote.

HJ 5 IH

111th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. J. RES. 5

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

January 6, 2009

Mr. SERRANO introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JOINT RESOLUTION

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years after the date of its submission for ratification:

‘Article--

‘The twenty-second article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.’.

So far we have had a very peaceful transfer of power. I'm curious as to what it will be like in four years if the Messiah turns out to be a great failure that I think he will be and gets voted out.

Regardless, we have a new president. his name is Barack Obama. May God have mercy on us all.

Introduction

This must be the fancy place where I introduce myself, and my blog.

I am an individual who has had a web presence in the past. for reasons I cannot go into detail with here, I had to convert into a more anonymous presence. Not to say that I mind if you can figure out who I am or my previous slightly infamous webspace, because it's more of a case of starting from scratch so I don't have the insane amount of readership or perhaps the increasingly searchability of finding me on the internets that I did before. It often ended up as nothing but trouble before. But I enjoy blogging so the point of it now is to allow me to keep doing it without the pesky problem of being personally known for what I write.

So this is me starting over again.

So, what can you come to discover about me and the purpose of this blog? I guess it can be divided into different categories. For instance...

Opinion - This is probably what I will post most. My opinions on anything I want to discuss. Mostly my opinions are political in nature. And I am a conservative. Hence the link to the conservative blog roll to the right.

Hobbies - I might post stuff in regards to hobbies of mine. My hobbies are diverse and include art, photography, writing, and adrenaline enducing sports, among other things. Whatever the case, if I do something I wish to share, I might share it.

Adventures - If I go and do anything worht noting, it might find itself under this label. Like skydiving, or bungee jumping, or such.

Travel - It kind of goes hand in hand with adventures, sometimes. I tend to travel a lot.

Work - This is one place where I can't go into a lot of detail. But every so often, if I find tales worth telling, where I can remain somewhat vague on what it is I do, maybe I'll share? Or maybe not.

Personal - While maintaining my anonymous nature, I might be able to share a thing or to about, well, myself. It goes under this tab.

I'll think of some other things to share with. Later.
